Kidd Upstairs Attempts to Usher in New Genre of Music

by Eric Taverna

Kidd Upstairs is a genre bending artist who blends hip-hop and dubstep creating a genre the Oakland native calls Dip Hop.  This is his new mixtape The Step Tape. It is unique in sound and Kidd Upstairs is able to seamlessly show his lyrical ability on each track. From the melodically dark track “The Killer” to the heavier filthier  “The Holy Water” the tape is infectious front to back. Kidd Upstairs is constantly releasing new tracks so be sure to check him out below.
